Good testing has some different parameters…most important is most likely a skilled tester together with a good set of tools. I guess one probably underestimated factor is the hardware involved in the testing process. Production-like test environment could by a key factor but what about your own testing workstation?
Having a decent workstation certainly makes a difference. I have worked with dual monitors the last 6 years and about half a year ago, I got my third. In addition I am using my iPhone for e-mail monitoring.
Why so many monitors?
Well, good testing goes beyond the AUT GUI. Parsing logs, database operations, running automation in parallel could reduce setup, increase the chance of finding bugs and increase your test coverage…
The value/cost of having a good workstation is usually a really good...
